48 PoE RJ45 ports48 on the panel
Ports 1 to 48 are laid out in two rows in three blocks of 16, odd numbers on top and even numbers below.
32 are gigabit and 16 run at 1 or 2.5 GbE. Every port supplies PoE: 32 give PoE/PoE+ and 16 give up to 60 W PoE++, all sharing a 720 W budget. The datasheet does not say which physical ports are the 2.5 GbE or PoE++ ones, so check the port labels on the unit.
4 x 10G SFP+ ports4 on the panel
Ports 49 to 52 sit in a 2 x 2 block on the right, odd numbers on top, for 10G fiber or DAC uplinks to an aggregation switch or gateway.
Power and RPS. The switch has a universal AC input (100-240 V, 50/60 Hz) and a DC input for a UniFi USP-RPS backup supply. The datasheet does not show the back panel, so those inputs are not drawn here.
PoE budget and power
- Total PoE
- 720 W
- PoE (802.3af)
- 15.4 W per port
- PoE+ (802.3at)
- 30 W per port
- PoE++
- 60 W per port
- PoE voltage
- 44-57 V
- PoE+ voltage
- 50-57 V
Without PoE load the switch draws up to 100 W. The internal 820 W supply covers that plus the 720 W PoE budget.
What else is on the front
- 1.3 in. touchscreen: on the left of the front panel, for status and local management.
- Etherlighting: the Ethernet and SFP+ ports light up to show port location, speed and link, and native VLAN.
- LEDs: System and RPS status.
- Factory reset button: on the front panel.
Switching features
Layer 2: IGMP snooping, STP and RSTP, port isolation, storm control, voice VLAN, port mirroring, LACP aggregation, 802.1X, jumbo frames, loop protection, DHCP snooping, LLDP-MED and ACLs.
Layer 3: DHCP server, DHCP relay, inter-VLAN routing, static routing and ACL-based isolation.
The datasheet lists UniFi Network 8.0.24 or later as the software requirement.
Frequently asked questions
How many ports does the USW-Pro-Max-48-PoE have?+
48 RJ45 ports (32 GbE and 16 at 1/2.5 GbE), all with PoE, plus 4 x 10G SFP+ ports.
What is the PoE budget of the USW-Pro-Max-48-PoE?+
720 W in total, with up to 60 W per port on the 16 PoE++ ports and 30 W on the 32 PoE+ ports.
Does the USW-Pro-Max-48-PoE support redundant power?+
