24 PoE RJ45 ports24 on the panel
Ports 1 to 24 are laid out in a single row in three blocks of eight, numbered left to right.
16 are gigabit and 8 run at 1 or 2.5 GbE. Every port supplies PoE: 8 give PoE/PoE+ and 16 give up to 60 W PoE++, all sharing a 400 W budget. The datasheet does not say which physical ports are the 2.5 GbE or PoE++ ones, so check the port labels on the unit.
2 x 10G SFP+ ports2 on the panel
Ports 25 and 26 sit in side by side on the right, for 10G fiber or DAC uplinks to an aggregation switch or gateway.
Power and RPS. The switch has a universal AC input (100-240 V, 50/60 Hz) and a DC input for a UniFi USP-RPS backup supply. The datasheet does not show the back panel, so those inputs are not drawn here.
PoE budget and power
- Total PoE
- 400 W
- PoE (802.3af)
- 15.4 W per port
- PoE+ (802.3at)
- 30 W per port
- PoE++
- 60 W per port
- PoE voltage
- 44-57 V
- PoE+ voltage
- 50-57 V
Without PoE load the switch draws up to 50 W. The internal 450 W supply covers that plus the 400 W PoE budget.
What else is on the front
- 1.3 in. touchscreen: on the left of the front panel, for status and local management.
- Etherlighting: the Ethernet and SFP+ ports light up to show port location, speed and link, and native VLAN.
- LEDs: System and RPS status.
- Factory reset button: on the front panel.
Switching features
Layer 2: IGMP snooping, STP and RSTP, port isolation, storm control, voice VLAN, port mirroring, LACP aggregation, 802.1X, jumbo frames, loop protection, DHCP snooping, LLDP-MED and ACLs.
Layer 3: DHCP server, DHCP relay, inter-VLAN routing, static routing and ACL-based isolation.
The datasheet lists UniFi Network 8.0.24 or later as the software requirement.
Frequently asked questions
How many ports does the USW-Pro-Max-24-PoE have?+
24 RJ45 ports (16 GbE and 8 at 1/2.5 GbE), all with PoE, plus 2 x 10G SFP+ ports.
What is the PoE budget of the USW-Pro-Max-24-PoE?+
400 W in total, with up to 60 W per port on the 16 PoE++ ports and 30 W on the 8 PoE+ ports.
Does the USW-Pro-Max-24-PoE support redundant power?+
Yes. Besides the universal AC input it has a DC input for a UniFi USP-RPS redundant power supply, and an RPS status LED.
Is the USW-Pro-Max-24-PoE a Layer 3 switch?+
Yes. It supports DHCP server, DHCP relay, inter-VLAN routing, static routing and ACL-based isolation, alongside a full Layer 2 feature set.
What is Etherlighting?+
The Ethernet and SFP+ ports light up to show where a port is, its speed and link, and its native VLAN, which makes tracing patch cables easier.
How deep is the USW-Pro-Max-24-PoE?+
325 mm (12.8 in.) deep, in a 1U chassis that weighs 5.1 kg (11.3 lb) without brackets.
