8 x 10G SFP+ ports8 on the panel

Ports 1 to 8 sit in four stacked pairs on the right of the front panel: odd numbers on top, even numbers below.

Each cage takes a 1G or 10G SFP+ module or a DAC cable. Thanks to the internal power supply, all eight cages can also run UF-RJ45-10G copper modules (sold separately).

Power is internal. The switch takes universal AC input (100-240 VAC, 50/60 Hz) through its built-in 36 W power supply. The datasheet does not show the back panel, so it is not drawn here.

What else is on the front

  • System LED panel: on the left side of the front, marked USW.
  • Reset button: a recessed button to the right of the SFP+ block, next to the RESET label.
  • Vent slots: a row of slots runs along the top edge of the front.

Performance and power

The eight 10G ports give 80 Gbps of non-blocking throughput and 160 Gbps of switching capacity, with a forwarding rate of 119.04 Mpps. The switch draws at most 30 W.

It runs from -5 to 40 C (23 to 104 F) at 10 to 90% noncondensing humidity, and is rated for ESD of 16 kV air and 12 kV contact.

Frequently asked questions

How many ports does the USW-Aggregation have?+

Eight 10G SFP+ ports on the front, arranged in four stacked pairs. There are no RJ45 ports built in.

Can I use copper RJ45 modules in the USW-Aggregation?+

Yes. The datasheet says all eight ports support UF-RJ45-10G copper modules (sold separately), because the internal 36 W power supply can run them.

How fast is the USW-Aggregation?+

80 Gbps total non-blocking throughput, 160 Gbps switching capacity and a forwarding rate of 119.04 Mpps.

How much power does the USW-Aggregation use?+

At most 30 W, from a universal 100-240 VAC input through an internal 36 W AC/DC supply.

Is the USW-Aggregation a Layer 3 switch?+

No. The datasheet lists it as a managed Layer 2 switch.

What does a steady white System LED mean?+

The switch is at factory defaults and waiting to be adopted. Steady blue means it has been adopted.

Plan this network switch in your rack

The USW-Aggregation is in the Ubiquiti library for DaMatrix, with every port mapped so you can drag it into a rack, patch it and print the documentation.
